The Royal Hall is a magnificent Edwardian theatre and concert hall in Harrogate, often described as a "glittering palace of gold." Opened in 1903 as the Kursaal, it was designed by Frank Matcham and is one of the last remaining examples of a grand spa concert hall in the UK. Following a spectacular multi-million pound restoration in 2008, its interior—complete with gold leaf, ornate plasterwork, and a spectacular crystal chandelier—has been returned to its original glory. It serves as a premier social venue for gala dinners, concerts, and community celebrations, epitomising the town's heritage of elegance.
Harrogate is one of England's most elegant spa towns, famous for its Victorian gardens, grand hotels, and annual events including the Great Yorkshire Show and the Theakston Crime Writing Festival.
