Opened in 1990 as the West Yorkshire Playhouse and rebranded in 2018, it is one of the UK's most successful and active producing theatres. The building houses two auditoria - the Quarry Theatre and the Courtyard Theatre - presenting a diverse programme of drama, comedy, musicals, and family shows. The theatre is also a major hub for theatre education and community engagement, with extensive outreach programmes and the Bramall Rock Void studio space for experimental work.
